If you’re looking for a fun and exciting way to learn piano, you’ve come to the right place.
You may ask yourself, “which approach should I learn?” “who is the best piano teacher in San Jose for me?” “when will I be able to actually play?”
The answers depend on your goal and learning style. There are many piano learning methods, but…
Why Are Traditional Piano Lessons So Boring?
Perhaps, you were one of the lucky ones who tried piano lessons as a child.
But before long, you quit.
Feelings of failure left you with unhappy memories, or perhaps even a distaste for the piano.
Was it the practice?
The teacher?
The method?
Too hard?
Your parents forced you to practice. You resisted. You cried until you were blue in the face. But it didn’t matter.
And the pressure-cooker recitals that left you shaking in your boots?
What was it that caused the frustration?
Maybe, it was a little bit of everything.
And now, you’re on a path to find a better way for you or your kids.
Well, guess what? your story is not that far off from everyone else’s.
Here’s something to note…
- The stats show that 86% of students quit music lessons in their first two years.
- Most students hate practicing and parents are tired of nagging their kids about it.
- Students don’t want to learn to play the piano. They want to play the piano! And they want to play now.
That’s why we’re different. We teach you to PLAY immediately from your very first lessons.
Most piano teachers teach the same traditional piano method that has been around for the past 300 years. The results?
Most students struggle. A few survive.
No surprise here!
And what about practice time? Students hate to practice and parents hate to force their kids to practice.
And who really wants to wait a long time before you’re able to play a song with both hands together?
Unlike the traditional method, wouldn’t it be nice if you found a way to play the piano that’s fun and a breeze to learn and not being bogged down with complicated music theory?
What if there was cutting-edge technology that would encourage your daily practice habits?
What if you could completely love playing the piano for years to come?
What if you could do it now?
Well, I have great news for you.

Frequently Asked Questions About The Simply Music Method
Rather than us telling you, we’ll let you hear directly from Neil Moore, the creator of Simply Music. Please watch the video below.
Absolutely, adults appreciate this because of the play first approach to learning the piano. Most adults do not have the patience or inclination to go through the rigors of learning to read musical notes or process scales. We help you bypass the reading part and get you straight to playing great sounding songs from the very beginning.
It’s the same reason we learned to talk long before we went to school to learn to read and spell. We want you to acquire the language of music first by immersing you in the process of playing immediately. When ready, we’ll introduce reading. By then you should have an intimate relationship with the piano and a repertoire of about 30-50 songs in different styles of music. In addition, most people would love to be able to sit down at the piano and play songs, not practice scales and drills.
Unless your child learned it the Simply Music way, yes. Your child is going to learn something very new. A different way of thinking about music. We are going to establish a new foundation from which their new skill set will be built upon. They’ll be learning how to learn. Instead of looking at music as a linear note by note fashion, they’ll be looking at music in terms of sentences, shapes and patterns. In addition, we’ll be drawing from existing aural and visual skills and the natural sense of musicality that everyone already has.
Yes, this method works regardless of whether someone has taken traditional lessons or not. If your child previously took traditional lessons, chances are that he/she will progress faster than average. The teacher will match the pace of the student.
Yes, around the second or third year into the Simply Music program, when students have acquired between 30 – 50 songs in the active playlist in different styles of music, we introduce the reading process.
No, although the ear will develop as a by-product of this method. Students learn strategies or learning clues. Each song has a specific set of easy to follow learning clues that allow students to play immediately without having to read musical notations. Once the learning clues are mastered, students will be able to play these songs anytime, anywhere without having to rely on sheet music.
There are many piano methods, but it boils down to two categories: traditional and non-traditional. For the sake of simplicity, any method that requires you to learn to read music first falls under the traditional method. Any method that does not require you to learn to read first, but rather allows you to play immediately, is considered non-traditional. Simply Music is the world’s largest playing based method. This is our preferred method to teach at For the Love of Piano Studio.
