With 20 years of experience, Master Teacher Bernadette Ashby works alongside with you to develop expertise in the Simply Music method, mindset, and business structure. Through one-on-one accountability, Simply Music Teachers will gain greater confidence and skills towards delivering value-based breakthrough piano lessons.
In addition, ITC is offering a new course to coach teachers in establishing an online presence, the new wave of piano lessons. Any teacher who has a need to convert and build their student base online will benefit greatly from taking this course, even if you lack technology experience.
What We Have to Offer – 6 Weeks of Personalized Coaching and Accountability over Two Months
- Four Weeks: Studio Building Business Plan and Personal Training
- Two Weeks: Simple Steps to Onboarding and Converting Students to Online Lessons
We start with a four week individualized private coaching program provided to the Simply Music Teacher who is in need of ‘high touch’ personal training. Through an initial no obligation evaluation, we will collaborate and determine the course of action for the next four weeks based on the needs of the Teacher. From there, we create a course outline to cover their goals. Their month’s activity will include focused study, preparation, and training to launch or re-energize their business.
An exciting offering for the next two weeks thereafter is our new course: Simple Steps to Onboarding and Converting Students to Online Lessons. Here, we will explain the mechanics of setting up and delivering online lessons that are effective and simple. You’ll learn the necessary steps to use technology in your studio, use communication technique so that there is clarity in your teaching, and will practice role-playing in our training.
After the six weeks, the teacher may choose to continue monthly or weekly training for as long as they want. The highlight of this program is that the teacher receives personalized ‘hand-holding’ coaching and online instruction for onboarding and converting students to online. The following topics can be covered but not limited to:
- Marketing – strategies to gain students
- Time Management – how to organize your studio
- Avoiding Teacher Burnout – taking care of yourself
- Retention – keeping students for the long-term relationship
- The SIS – screening/interviewing prospective students/families
- Role-Playing – modeling and teaching
- Teaching Tips – adding value to your studio
- Using Workshops to build your studio
- Curriculum Training – teaching all levels, Accompaniment, Arrangements, RR, RN, TFM, Blues, Comp./Improv.
- Creating Studio Policies
- The Power of Shared Lessons
- Onboarding and Converting Students to Online Lessons

Bernadette Ashby is a Master Simply Music Teacher with over 20 years of teaching/training experience. She is the author of the book A World Where Everyone Plays, which is a compilation of breakthrough stories about individuals who have achieved piano playing because of Simply Music. Her own unique story positions her to understand the challenges and struggles that new and experienced teachers might have in delivering this method and starting and running their own businesses.
